subete nakuseba raku ni nareru sono hazu datta
Koumuru fukou wa higeki no bishou

honno ippo sae mo fumihazuseba ochiru naraku
Osoreru kokoro wa naze mata ikiyou to suru?

samenai akumu no you na kono genjitsu wa kami no keiji na no ka itazura na no ka
Aware darou dakedo imasara shinjitai mono mitsukete shimatta
Nara kutsugaesou koufukuron wo zetsubou no subete ni kai wo dasereba
Saigo ni nokoru ketsuron wa kibou na no ka, arui wa…

Losing everything was supposed to make things easy
Tragedy smiles upon misery

An abyss into which it only takes one misstep to fall
Why does a fearful heart try to live again?

This reality like a never-ending nightmare. Is it a message from God or a divine prank?
Miserable, yes, but we’ve found something to believe in after all
So let’s disprove the theory of surrender. If we can find all the answers to despair
is hope the final conclusion or…?

Losing everything was supposed to make things easy
Tragedy smiles upon misery

An abyss into which it only takes one misstep to fall
Why does a fearful heart try to live again?

Miserable, yes, but we’ve found something to believe in after all
So let’s disprove the theory of surrender. If we can find all the answers to despair
is hope the final conclusion or…?

The ruthlessness of the world penetrates us
with foolishness that we see everywhere

Darkness caused by even a flashing moment of doubt
Yet why does the heart still try to believe?

This grueling challenge like an unsolvable puzzle. Is it proof of the Devil or a diabolical conspiracy?
Impossible, yes, but there’s no way out of it.
So let’s disprove the theory of surrender
If we reject all the dead ends as we remain lost in the face of an answer, then one day…

While we’re made to dance on a roulette
there’s definitely a bond in the name of…

This reality like a never-ending nightmare. Is it a message from God or a divine prank?
Miserable, yes, but we’ve found something to believe in after all
Is this world reflected in our eyes Heaven or Hell?
It wasn’t God’s decision. Only we can decide for ourselves
So let’s disprove the theory of surrender
The light we see by discovering that despair is destroyed by choosing joy and believing in hope

Ending animation[]

First version[]

Nasse with a glowing halo

Nasse with a glowing halo

Still glowing feathers decorate the clear blue sky as close-up eye shots in the order of Saki Hanakago, Kanade Uryu, Mirai Kakehashi, and Nasse transition one after the other with a glitch effect on the four corners of the screen. The sky fades out and becomes dark, and neon line art images of Kanade, Saki, Nasse, and Mirai with their halos and Angel braces activated appear. This transitions to a close-up shot of Mirai's face before displaying a spinning White Arrow on its tip. Behind the White Arrow are television panels presenting scenes from Mirai's childhood memories, Mirai's first meeting with Revel, Metropoliman's arrival at the bank robbery, and images of a few angels. This continues even as the White Arrow is replaced by the Red, where the panels now show Mirai's confrontation with his aunt and uncle. The Red keeps spinning until it loses balance and falls. A White Arrow is briefly shown before a clump of feathers disperse in the spaces of the celestial realm, with Nasse floating in the middle.

Second version[]

Light shines from up above as feathers gracefully fall to the same direction. While the feathers disperse, Kanade Uryu emerges sitting on a chair similar to that of the one he has in his headquarters with his eyes closed. A bush of pink flowers appears and the camera pans to a shot of Rea Uryu standing in a flower patch.

Flower petals fall and a fair slender foot walks to the right. Rea's frozen corpse is shown upside down with red roses encircling her body. Afterward, Kanade is shown kneeling on the floor with his head in his hands, until his Wings are revealed that burst in a cloud of feathers.

Blood drips from Kanade’s eyes

Blood drips from Kanade’s eyes

The camera pans to a close shot of Kanade's covered face. Uncovering it, blood drips down from the corners of his piercing magenta eyes. A fade out transition changes the focus from Kanade to Meyza, who stands on the rightmost side of the screen, as feathers repeatedly fall to the right. Afterward, a slideshow of Metropoliman and his allies is projected in a split-screen fashion; on the left side, Metropoliman himself kneeling on his right knee while still images in the order of Mimimi Yamada, Ryuji Bakamatsu, Fuyuko Kohinata, and Hajime Sokotani beam on the right. Upon Hajime's appearance, Metropoliman stands up from his kneeled position.

The animation cuts to Metropoliman's half-body side profile with no helmet on and his cape floating in the air. Suddenly, the camera pans to his face, and his helmet assembles to cover it, which then displays a reflection of Mirai Kakehashi in his red motorsport costume.
